The heat reflux extraction system is a cutting-edge device for Chinese herbal medicine production. It is composed of extracting tank, heater, evaporator, condenser, cooler, oil separator, heater, and control system.

The machine unit first immerses the herbal material in water for extraction of active ingredients; the extracted liquid is then discharged to the evaporator to be concentrated. The system also collects the flash steam generated during this process, which is used in subsequent evaporation to save energy. Since the system executes the extraction and concentration processes simultaneously and continuously, the time for entire process is greatly reduced. The whole unit operates in an enclosed environment, so it has little gas consumption.

It is controlled by a PLC, enabling adjustment on heating temperature, evaporation temperature, reflow temperature, system vacuum pressure, and liquid level of solvent in extracting tank. Water or alcohol solvent distillation in conditions of negative pressure, normal pressure, or positive pressure, especially low-temperature distillation of heat sensitive materials can be made.
